The discussion focused on the peculiarities of the quantum world, where particles can exist in a superposition of states, and the act of observation itself affects the outcome of an experiment. The experts also discussed how the familiar macroscopic world emerges from quantum reality and what conclusions about the nature of reality can be drawn from various interpretations of quantum mechanics.
The discussion was attended by leading Russian scientists and industry representatives: Nikolai Kolachevsky, Acting Director of the Lebedev Physical Institute, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences ; Arutyun  Avetisyan, Director of the ISP RAS, Academician of the RAS; Alexey Vagov, Director of the Center for Quantum Metamaterials of the MIEM of the HSE University; Konstantin  Parfyonov, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Physics at Moscow State University; Emil Akhmedov, Head of the Department of Theoretical Physics named after L.D. Landau; Anton Guglya, CEO of Cloud Quantum Technologies.
Participation in the program highlights the Center's active role in promoting modern science and discussing key issues in quantum physics on a broad public platform.
