A Participant of the IAC project, Professor Mauro M.Doria, has published the book ONE STEP TO QUANTUM MECHANICS (Mauro M. Doria, Ph.D., Yale University 1983, Full Professor, Institute of Physics, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (452 pages 33 Chapters, in portuguese)

The book is specially focused on the period that precedes the discovery of Quantum Mechanics that now, in 2025, completes one hundred years.

The point of view taken is that of its original creators, the so-called natural philosophers, who, in their times, observed phenomena that they themselves could not fully explain. Nevertheless they faced philosophical opposition to the new concepts that were arising from their researches, that changed the way we see the atom and the cosmos nowadays. This historical and scientific perspective is helpful because the difficulties felt by the reader are exactly those that crossed the mind of the natural philosophers. Much more than explain quantum physics concepts, the author attempts to transmit an idea that remains valid for all times.
