Professor Alexey Vagov, Director of the Center for Quantum Metamaterials (MIEM, HSE), took part in a meeting of the Working Group on High Technologies and Innovations of the Subcommittee on Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Russian-Chinese Commission for the preparation of regular meetings of Heads of Governments.

The fifteenth meeting of the Working Group was held on June 4, 2024,jointly chaired by N.Y. Kudryavtsev, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and Sun Jian, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. The event was held in Yekaterinburg on the basis of the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin.

During the expert discussion the following topics have been discussed: the further development of scientific and technological cooperation between Russian universities and scientific and industrial organizations of China, joined attempts in solving the problems of the real sector of the economy and scientific and industrial integration of the two countries in various fields. Among other things, the prospects for the development of Russian-Chinese research on the development of new functional materials were considered, which is of particular interest to the HSE MIEM Center for Quantum Metamaterials. The experts paid special attention to the plans of the implementation of the joint Russian-Chinese projects, the analysis of existing experience in the development and implementation of such projects, as well as the holding of Russian-Chinese scientific and technical congresses and exhibitions
